Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful information about travelling to Thailand and the vaccinations recommended before your trip.

Most travellers are advised to have Hepatitis A and Typhoid. Additional vaccines such as Hepatitis B, Rabies, or Japanese Encephalitis may be suggested based on your travel plans.

Malaria tablets are not needed for Bangkok, Phuket, or major tourist areas. They are only considered if visiting rural or border regions with higher risk.

Vaccinations should ideally be started 6–8 weeks before travel to complete all doses in time. Last-minute appointments are also available if needed.

Dengue is found across Thailand, including cities and tourist areas. As there is no vaccine, protection relies on avoiding mosquito bites with repellent and suitable clothing.

Costs vary depending on required vaccines. Some may be available on the NHS, while private vaccines are priced separately, with a full breakdown provided at consultation.

Many vaccines can be given in one appointment, but some such as Japanese Encephalitis require multiple doses, so early planning is recommended.
